Venkat Srinivasan

Postdoctoral Researcher at the Carl R Woese Institute for Genomic Biology
    Research Focus: Organ Modelling

Venkat is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Carl R Woese Institute for Genomic Biology. He received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and went on to get his Master of Science degree. in Civil Engineering from Auburn University. He also received his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois. Venkat’s expertise includes stochastic non-linear dynamics, eco-hydrology, food security, and crop optimization. Currently, he works on developing dynamic vegetation models under climate change scenarios. For the Crops in silico project, his work focuses on model integration across spatial scales from leaf level processes to the canopy and the ecosystem scales and quantifying the changes in the fluxes of carbon and water and energy under climate change.
