Riaz is a Postdoctoral Researcher working for Amy Marshall-Colón in the Department of Plant Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He received his M.S. in Bioinformatics from the COMSATS University Islamabad and then completed his Ph.D. in Computational Biology from the Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan. His research work is focused on metabolic network analysis in the post-genomics era.
